LinkNet signs MoU with VIAfrica

LinkNet's Gregory Mweemba signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VIAfrica from Kenya and the Netherlands, for the purposes of development of a collaborative operational and training program to investigate issues of ICT and engineering in rural areas. Also technology deployments and maintenance, and their interaction in support of aims and objectives of both LinkNet and Viafrica will be explored. This concerns rural sites in Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania. VIAfrica and LinkNet will exchange operational, educational and other content, including literature, and operational procedures to further capacity building in technological areas.

VIAfrica will train LinkNet staff in how to deploy and manage ICTs in rural schools, on site in Tanzania, while LinkNet supports for the provision of Internet connectivity solutions, and possibly bandwith, in line with LinkNet's collaborative works with Global Research Alliance and other partners.
